Earlier this week the Immigration Department received the E-passport enrollment kit from a Germany-based company.

Immigration Director Nemani Vuniwaqa says these enrollment kits will be dispatched into their offices in Nadi, Lautoka, Labasa and Savusavu.

Twenty of their staffs from these offices will under-go a three day training to learn how to operate these enrollment kit.

Senior passport officers also under went a two weeks training in Germany where they also learnt how to operate these enrollment kits.

The enrollment kit also included two printers that can process up to thirty e-passports simultaneously with less than a minute on each passport.

Vuniwaqa says that the schedule for which applicants can be notified of the date they will be able to pick their processed e-passports will be available by the latest next week.

Applications will be processed according to the month it is lodged and will take two days to process a particular months set of applications.
