Minister for Education-Rosy Akbar expects a step up in performance for 2019 and thanked all students and teachers for the achievements in 2018.
She congratulated schools that have performed exceptionally well in the 2018 external examinations.
she added parents are advised to do their part in ensuring their children report to school fully prepared to start the School Year.
All boarding students should be well equipped with boarding kits as per the ‘kit list’ given by the school.
Akbar said Education initiatives such as free milk and Weet-Bix by the Fijian Government will continue this year.
And in relation to TC Winston rehabilitation, she says work is currently being carried out in 11 schools with reconstruction expected to be completed by the end of March for 10 schools.
She expressed her well wishes to all school heads, teachers, parents, school managements and students’ for the 2019 academic year that offically begins next Monday.
