The Minister for Health and Medical Services – Rosy Akbar, has urged doctors to lead the charge when it comes to enhancing the “patient experience”, while accessing health care or interacting with health care providers.
Akbar made the statement while officiating at the 60th Scientific Conference with the theme – “How to Improve the Health System – To Make Medicine Safe.”
She said Doctors should not only lead in the delivery of services, but also in improving the quality of services.
She challenged doctors in their role as practitioners, educators and administrators, to do more to advocate for non-communicable diseases prevention, particularly in their own communities.
Akbar said the Government, through the Civil Service Reform, has set out to modernize the civil service and has included the greater recognition of doctors’ higher pay packages.
