Fiji Police Officers, Town Council officials and representatives from the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service stationed between Sigatoka and Ra will undertake training tomorrow on the enforcement of the kawakawa and donu seasonal ban.
This is the second in a series of enforcement trainings to be conducted across Fiji over the next few weeks.
An initiative of the Ministry of Fisheries and conducted by cChange, a regional communications NGO, the one-day sessions aim to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to carry out effective outreach and as necessary, support the effective enforcement of the ban.
cChange will provide training and tools to conduct effective outreach to key stakeholders, with the goal of increasing compliance with the ban. The Ministry of Fisheries will provide training for participants in supporting effective enforcement of the ban.
