50 households in the village of Naveyago in Nadroga can now drink clean and safe water thanks to their new borehole.
Minister for Agriculture Inia Seruiratu yesterday commissioned a borehole water project for the village.
The project is being implemented and funded by the British American Tobacco Company, under a project to provide clean and safe drinking water to 10 communities that are deprived of piped water.
This is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Seruiratu in commissioning the project yesterday applauded the efforts of the tobacco company in trying to improving living standards for villages and communities in the region where their interests lie.
He urged other companies to work with government to be able to make a difference in the lives of Fijians.
