The Labor Ministry has shown full support to the phenomenal Budget of 2018 to 2019.
While giving his presentation in Parliament, Labor Minister Jone Usamate says that this budget shows consistency of spoken, consistency of purpose, consistency of commitment and consistency of the long-term good of all Fijians.
“This Budget, the honorable Prem Singh was talking about change is coming but in reality change has already arrived. Change sits on this side of the House.
The Budget as I’ve said builds on previous budgets and will ensure that the life and livelihood of all Fijians and improved and enhanced and the most important fabric of society, the Family are able to build themselves up and well into the future. If you look at Fiji and how we’ve been doing in the past few years we can see that impact of that consistent focus on the big picture.” said Minister for Labor – Jone Usamate.
He adds his Ministry has been given a target to achieve less than 4 percent unemployment in the coming years and Usamate reiterated that they are already on track in achieving this.
Usamate reminded the members of the House that the seasonal work program has been of great benefit for Fiji and they will continue to strengthen their involvement in this program targeting an increase in the numbers.
