The Brucellosis Tuberculosis Eradication Campaign is the biggest program that is earmarked by the Agriculture Ministry for this financial year.
This was confirmed by Minister for Agriculture, Inia Seruiratu.
The BTEC program has a total Allocation of $3.8million dollars and aims to test the whole country by extending the testing coverage in the western, central and eastern division to establish the prevalence of TB and continually push for the eradication of brucellosis.
The development of brucellosis free farms has been allocated $1million to support the replacement of infected dairy cattle with healthy stock at no cost to farmers, in addition to the allocation of $2.8million for the Brucellosis Tuberculosis Eradication Campaign programme.
The program aims to eradicate bovine brucellosis in the farm level by regularly testing persistent infected farms and successfully removing infected.
The Agriculture Ministry has a total allocation of $96.8 Million Dollars for the 2018/2019 National Budget Allocation.
