The Council of the Fiji Institute of Accountants (FIA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Beverly Seeto as their Executive Director effective February 2019.
Beverly Seeto joined the FIA as a consultant in February 2017 and was the Acting Executive Director from September 2019.
Beverly graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Accounting. She joined the chartered accounting firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell which was later merged to form KPMG, before moving to Shell Fiji Limited and then Total (Fiji) Limited.
Since 1987 Beverly has been a member of the Institute. She has been part of the Congress Organising Committee since 2008 and prior to that she contributed to the Journal Committee from 2002.
Beverly has served on the Fiji Red Cross Society National Board as the National Secretary/Treasurer from 1996 to 2000. She has been the Honorary Auditor for the Chinese Association of Fiji since 2012 and occasionally assists SMEs with financial advice.
Since joining the FIA Beverly has initiated a number of processes to improve the operations and finance areas. “I look forward to working with the FIA Council to achieve our 5 year Strategic Plan. I would like to hear from members on how we can all contribute to the Institute and to the community.”
The Council will be implementing some new initiatives in the coming months. FIA President Zarin Khan noted “The FIA has a wider responsibility: not only to their members but to the nation as a whole. Our initiatives are geared to ensure that we engage with various sectors of the community and we can lend our expertise to assist in whatever manner appropriate.”
