Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama last night met with the Victorian business community during a luncheon at the Crown Towers in Melbourne, Australia.
While addressing close to 20 prominent business people from Victoria and Sydney during the event, Prime Minister Bainimarama said opportunities existed for Australian investors in growing the Fijian economy.
Prime Minister Bainimarama said the Fijian economy is now poised to grow for the ninth consecutive year, the longest period of sustained economic growth ever recorded in the country’s history.
He highlighted to the business leaders the sectors in which they could tap into as investors with the Fijian government pouring resources into infrastructure.
The business community also got an opportunity to raise issues with the Fijian delegation, particularly on land issues.
The business luncheon was also attended by the Director Victoria State Office, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms Jenny Bloomfield.
