The Fiji Airways Mens 7s Team has equaled the 1999/2000 team feat – by winning five tournaments in a world series season.
But the current side can become the first team to win 6 tournaments in a calendar year, if they take out the Paris title this weekend.
Gareth Baber has also equaled Peni Veidreyaki’s five tournament wins, in the inaugural season 19 years ago.
They have become the first Fijian side to win four consecutive tournaments in a season.
With 30 consecutive wins for Fiji heading into Paris, coach Gareth Baber said South Africa was the bench mark for them this season.
The Radradra and Tuisova factor was evident in London as the Bus ran through the South African defence in the final.
