Ba continued its unbeaten run in the Vodafone Premier League after the Men-in Black outclassed Labasa 3-nil in the lone VPL fixture at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Namosau, Ba on Saturday.
The Men in Black sit on top of the Vodafone Premier League points table with 26 points after playing 10 men matches in which they have won eight and drew two matches.
Labasa after the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants victory missed some of its top players in the match while Ba had their young brigades led by Avinesh Waran Swamy.
Labasa did not have the likes of Antonio Tuivuna, Ilisoni Logaivou, Sitiveni Rakai and Akeimi Ralulu in its starting lineup and came up with one reserve player and that was goalkeeper while Ba featured without Solomon import Darold Kakasi, Malakai Tiwa and Praneel Naidu.
Veteran Avinesh Swamy who featured at sweeper gave a Man of the Match performance and got two goals to his name.
Swamy opened Ba’s account from the penalty spot late in the first half to give the hosts a handy 1-0 lead at the break.
Abbu Zahid doubled Ba’s lead early in the second half and Swamy netted the third goal from a beautiful free-kick.
Labasa on the other hand sits on third spot with 15 points after 10 games.
Ba plays Tavua this Saturday at 3pm at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Ba while Labasa will face Lautoka.
