ANZ Fiji today announced a number of initiatives to encourage staff to reduce plastic waste and their environmental footprint, in support of the Ministry of Environment’s participation in World Environment Day.
The theme for this year’s World Environment Day is Beat Plastic Pollution, which is a call to action for individuals, companies and communities to combat plastic pollution and its environmental impact.
ANZ Country Head for Fiji, Saud Minam, said: “The 2018 theme of Beat Plastic Pollution aligns with ANZ’s environmental sustainability focus areas of energy, water and waste.
“Environmental sustainability is an important issue for people in Fiji. We hope to encourage our 700 staff to contribute to environmental sustainability by protecting the world’s resources and reducing waste.
“ANZ Fiji and our ANZ Staff Foundation are pleased to kick off a number of new initiatives today to protect the environment, with particular focus on beating plastic pollution.”
