Chief guest at the Awards Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama highlighted the importance of working with strict guidelines in any development that involves the environment with in the industry.
A night to celebrate achievements by individuals and companies who are players and are involved daily in driving the tourism industry towards the 2billion dollar mark.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on the night did not only hand out awards but also a stern warning to developers and investors in the tourism sector.
His message well received by those present on the night.
With the ever increasing number of tourist arrival seen as a plus for the economy, government made clear it will not compromise on the violation of environment laws.
Bainimarama also brought to the attention of Hoteliers and resort owners reports from locals on how differently they are treated compared to visiting tourists.
Certainly a night to remember for the awards won and a statement that will deter a would be environment laws violator.
