The New Zealand under 20 men’s rugby team has beaten Wales 42-10 in their second pool game at the World Championship in France.
The New Zealanders led 25-10 at half time and scored five tries to one.
Billy Proctor, Bailyn Sullivan, Tom Christie, Tevita Mafileo and Xavier Roe scored tires, while Harry Plummer kicked four conversions and three penalties.
Disappointing for the New Zealanders was the three yellow cards they received.
Coach Craig Philpott was pleased with their effort today.
“Today we had a real Test match, the conditions meant that it was a little bit difficult to play the expansive style that we wanted to play so we had to muscle up up front.”
“I thought we did that really well and defensively to concede only ten points against a good Welsh side is pleasing as well.
They beat Japan in their first game and will meet Australia in their last pool match on Friday.
