Education Minister -Rosy Akbar was impressed with students enrolled at the Technical College Fiji, Tagitagi Campus this week.
Akbar says the enrollment trends for older students globally have shown an increase in the percentage of students enrolling for college or vocational school who are older than 25 years of age.
She says there is no reason to feel ashamed if you’re in your thirties or fifties and going back to pursue an Education.
For 50-year-old Taniela Viyalevu,being enrolled in a National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic has given him hope to pursue his dream job.
The college offers programs for skill development to prepare trainees for future employment for students who have a minimum qualification as well as those with no formal qualification but who have relevant work experience.
