The Government has allocated more than $200,000 towards the Scouts Association in the country, said the Attorney-General, Minister for Economy and Education, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
He made the statement while officiating at the National Scouts Jamboree camp in Vunimoli Primary School in Labasa.
“We have identified the Scouts Association as the one organisation that, of course, is done on a voluntary basis but a very good association that Government can partner with all of you to ensure that we have a country that is built upon by young people, like yourselves, who get to know of their civic duties, about developing good relationships with other Fijians,” the AG said.
“I understand you have a focus on sustainability, resilience and of course Peace.”
There are 1,200 students from 26 scouting districts around the country present at the one week camp.
