The Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is calling on for more submissions towards the 2019/2020 National Budget consultations and to make suggestions and ideas that will help Government with budgetary allocations.
While speaking to the members of the private and business sector in Suva, the A-G provided an overview of Fiji’s economic performance and developments in the various sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, social protection system, employment rate and Fiji’s debt level.
The forum was an opportune time for members of the private sector to make their budgetary submissions for next year’s budget.
Issues raised at the forum ranged from taxation issues, ease of setting up businesses locally and need to review tax on imported materials for construction companies.
He reminded those present to make their submissions before the 26th of April, 2019 to the Ministry of Economy.
