The Fiji National University Labasa Campus conference room was jam packed as students gathered to attend the 2018-2019 National Budget Roadshow by the Attorney General and Minister Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
“The budget for education has been increasing because there is more and more of you now in Universities, more and more people are going to primary and high schools so the expenditure is increasing,” Sayed-Khaiyum.
Honourable Sayed-Khaiyum said the education sector has been allocated a record-breaking total of 1.025 billion dollars, 22 per cent of Government’s total expenditure.
He added the Government believed in equal opportunities thus more females were enrolled in academic institutions today.
Honourable Sayed-Khaiyum also highlighted on key incentives introduced in the 2018-2019 National Budget for the benefit of all ordinary Fijians.
