The Mom & Pop League which is a football program for children under-10 attracted more than 700 children around the country which started last week Saturday in seven districts.

Fiji FA Technical Director Ravinesh Kumar said they started this program last year and they conducted it in five districts around the country.

“This year we have increased them with two more districts bringing it to seven districts and like I have been told that 700 children, parents and guardian went through this program last Saturday, “Kumar said

Kumar said they expected the number to grow within this ten weeks of the program.

“Looking ahead in future we have targeted more than 2000 children, parents and guardians till 2022 to go through this program,”

He said the program was not only for children to have fun, training and enjoyment but it was also about national unity.

“We are working towards of our football philosophy that is “Equality and Unity through Football and we are working towards anti-discrimination and diversity progame which FIFA is also working on, “Kumar said.

The Technical Director said they were also working on the national unity.

“As we are all known “Fijians” and all need to interact each other likewise we are developing the children holistically and the parents as well so they can interact with different color, race, gender and cultures.

“They all come in together and mix around and play together, “he said.
