A woman in her 20s will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court today for allegedly harbouring an escaped prisoner.
The accused is the partner of escapee Nacanieli Bakata and upon investigations it was discovered that she had allegedly assisted Bakata on two different occasions since his escape from Police custody on the 17th of July, 2018.
The accused is alleged to have taken food to Bakata on the 19th and 21st July in Korociri and Votualevu.
The accused has been charged with two counts of harbouring a prisoner contrary to Section 79 of the Prisons Act and will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court this morning.
While Police continues the search for escapees Nacanieli Bakata, Ilaitia Vuivuda and Josaia Leone, members of the public are once again reminded that it is an offence to aid and harbour prisoners.
