11 records have been broken so far at the Fiji National Schools Swimming Championship that is currently underway in Suva.

Faith Tudreu of International Secondary School has set a new record of 40.33 seconds in the Female Under 12 50 meters backstoke.

The old record was set by Lice Maivusaroko of Nadi Christian with a tine of 44.05 seconds.

Ofa Lagonilakeba of Natabua High School set a new record in the Female Under 13 50 meters Backstroke with a time of 35.40 seconds breaking a time of 36.83 seconds that was set by Sylvia Nasario of Saint Josephs Secondary School back in 2013.

Jodie Ana Puamau has set a new record in the Female Under 14- 50 meters Backstroke after clocking a time of 32.25 seconds breaking a time of 33.06 seconds set by Adi Kinisimere Naivalu of Suva Grammar School back in 2013.

Rosamarie Rova of Swami Vivekananda College has set a new record in the Female Under 15- 400 meters Freestyle after clocking a time of 4 minutes 51 seconds beating the old record of 5 minutes 23 seconds set by Tiarana Mitchell of Jai Narayan College back in 2014.

Hefu Erasito of Marist Brothers High School has set a new record of 4 minutes 42 seconds in the Male Under 14 400 meters Freestyle beating the old record of 5 minutes 12 seconds set by Calum Lobendahn of MBHS back in 2015.

Hansel McCaig of Natabua High School has set a new record in the Male Under 14 50 meters Backstroke after clocking a time of 30.43 seconds beating the old record of 31.37 seconds set by Netani Ross of Swami Vivekananda College back in 2015.

Wilson Erasito of Swami Vivekananda College has set a new record in the Male Under 15 400 Freestyle after clocking a time of 4 minutes 48 seconds beating the old record of 5 minutes 9 seconds set by Calum Lobendahn of MBHS back in 2016.

Temafa Yalimaiwai of MBHS has set a new record of 4minutes 26 seconds in the Male Under 16 400 Freestyle beating the old record of 4 minutes 31 seconds set by Taichi Vakasama of SVC back in 2016.

Competition continues to get tough in the Primary Schools category as three records have been broken.

Eden Waqainabete of International School Nadi Primary has set a new record of 39.01 seconds in the Female Under 10 50 meters Backstroke beating the old record of 40.01 seconds set by Amy McGowan of Mount Saint Marys School back in 2009.

Caleba Puamau of Yat Sen Primary has set a new record of 37.04 seconds in the Male Under 9 50 meters Backstroke beating the old recors of 39.66 seconds set by Temafa Yalimaiwai of YSP back in 2011.

David Yound of TLC has set a new record of 5 minutes 18 seconds in the Male Under 13 400 meters Freestyle beating the old record of 5 minutes 27 seconds set by Rhys Cheer of Mount Saint Marys School back in 2014.

The championship is currently underway at the National Aquatic Centre in Suva.
