ELEVEN (11) companies qualified under the National Export Strategy received their grant certificates totalling $1.7m at Suvavou House.

Presenting these certificates, the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya said the purpose of the NES was to encourage diversification and add value to exports, which provided vital support in the export value chain.

“These companies are being assisted for the upgrading of infrastructure, procurement of value adding machines and equipment and in addressing supply side constraints, usually faced by exporters,” Minister Koya said.

He reiterated the NES, like various pro-growth initiatives of the Fijian Government, was a result oriented based initiative.

This year the NES entered its 12th year of inception together with the Fijian Government in successfully supporting businesses to achieve their goals of venturing into the international market.
