Zero tolerance will be given to both medium to high risk drivers  with multiple safety related traffic infringement notice’s on their licences.

The Land Transport Authority is carrying out a show cause around Lautoka and Suva in the past week to grip persistent offenders who regularly disregard road safety rules.

The recent enhancements to the LTA IT system manages the driving licence database and will automatically flag up drivers who are medium and high risk to the Authority for regulatory action.

Drivers are encouraged to attend this meetings.

Failure to do so without notifying the authority will result in the freezing of their LTA accounts. This they will not be able to carry out any transactions with the LTA such as road worthiness and vehicle transfers. The accounts will not be unfrozen unless and until they appear at a show cause meeting.

In this final year of the “Decade of Road Safety” launched by the Hon Prime Minister the Authority is resolute in taking away the driving licenses of people who flagrantly disregard the Road Safety messages from the Authority.
