Members of the Balevotu Youth Club received farming tools from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

While officiating at the handing over of the Youth Empowerment Grant in Balevotu Village in Ba, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Parveen Kumar encouraged the youth to work hard and to invest in the development of their village through commercial agriculture.

“Through this program, the Ministry of Youth and Sports continues to encourage our youth to work in partnership with the community and the Government by using available resources to create employment opportunities in this village.

Minister Kumar added that the farming venture would assist many families and the community of Balevuto in terms of food security and employment.

The youth club plans to venture into commercial agriculture in the hope of exporting cassava overseas and generating an income for themselves.
