As a leader in her own NGO called Island Pride which is focused on engaging youths to be the solutions to the impact of climate change in her island, is something Federated States of Micronesia Native- Yolanda Mori is Passionate about.

Mori is  amongst 40 Regional Youths attending the Sixth Young Pacific Leaders Conference held in Suva for the very first time this week.

She says as a young person, its very hard to have a voice and to break into spaces of Leadership so platforms like this make it more attainable and highlights the needs of young people.

She added these are just some of the challenges that  young people face back home, being part of network like this will help translate it into leadership when she goes back home.

Areas of discussion will focus on Education; Environment; Civic Leadership amongst others.

At the end of the conference, all Participants will be Eligible to compete for small grants to support projects in their own countries.

The 4-Day Program is funded by the US Department of State in Partnership with Cultural Vistas
