Women in Business held a Pinktober breakfast this morning to raise awareness on breast cancer.
The breakfast was an opportunity for the Ministry of Health and Fiji Cancer Society to advocate on the importance of prevention and early detection.
Breast Cancer survivor Vosita Katonivere shared her story of battling cancer to the women and men present at the Women In Business Pinktober breakfast this morning.
The emotional 49 year old says it is important to get regular check ups for early detention.
Women In Business President Dr Nur Bano Ali says the organisation will continue to support the initiative.
Money raised will be donated to the CWM Hospital for children living with cancer.
Dr Ane Veu from the Ministry of Health says cancer patients need support and care.
The donation from Women in Business will help with transportation cost and other medical expenses.
Over 50 people from corporate companies were present for the event.
This month is dedicated to Breast cancer awareness in an effort to reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment.
