Fiji will host 64 countries in this year’s International Weightlifting Federation Junior World Championship which will be hosted in Suva.
Weightlifting Fiji President, Atma Maharaj says the Junior World Championship will feature 20 weight categories, 10 for women, 10 for men and some events that will be categorised under the B series.
Maharaj says for Weightlifting Fiji, the international event is something they are all looking forward to. He adds that he is confident that there would be some world records to be broken here in Fiji, on the days of the competition.
Although the Super Rugby match between the Gallagher Chiefs and the BNZ Crusaders will coincide with the first day of the World Junior Championship, Maharaj is calling for support from members of the public to be part of the World Event.
The World Junior Weightlifting Championship is scheduled for June 1st to 8th at the Vodafone Arena.
