The Water Authority of Fiji – in its efforts to increase Awareness on the value of water during ‘Water Day’, took time out to educate and inform a total of twelve participants this week in the West.
The participants were taken on a full day educational tour, beginning at the Vaturu Dam, in the highlands of Nadi, the Nagado Water Treatment Plant, as well as to the Natabua Waste Water Treatment Plant in Lautoka.
WAF Regional Manager West – Romulusi Mataitoga thanked the participants for taking the time out, to learn more about how the Water Authority operates.
He says its good to see leaders in our communities, such as the District Advisory Councilors and the Mata ni Tikina’s, as well as the Turaga ni Koro’s, to know and witness what is actually going on at the Water Authority of Fiji.
Participant – William John says, he got educated on how it actually works, and it was an experience for him on where it starts and where it ends, and the way it is being used, now he knows how much it takes, to have pure water for us to drink.
Meanwhile, a total of twenty participants also took part in a similar program in the Northern Division, on the same day.
