Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete visited the Raviravi Nursing Station and the Beqa Health Centre last week.
The aim of these visits is to meet staff and discuss the challenges they face while holding talanoa sessions with the people to identify their needs in order to find appropriate remedies to address them.
The maritime areas are difficult places where health service delivery needs equal attention and the Health Ministry is working tirelessly to avail majority of the services to the people in these areas as part of the Universal Health Coverage.
Waqainabete during the visit said that all Fijians should receive equal health services irrespective of their location and this is something that the Ministry has been advocating and working towards.
“I would like to ensure that every individual in this nation has equitable and accessible health services where no one is left behind therefore interacting with staff and the people provides that platform to work towards accomplishing the desired goal.”
He further added that every Fijian has an equal responsibility in ensuring better health for all and this can be achieved only through a collaborative effort.
