Fiji has 11 days left before we are declared COVID-19 free if no new cases are recorded.

However, with countries around the world recording a second wave of infections, the government is not slowing down on community outreach.

Fiji has not ruled out a possibility of a “second wave” of infections.

Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says the focus remains on breaking the chain in the spread of the virus.

He adds all isolation facilities remain open and those that are not being used are being decontaminated.

Out of the 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19 , 14 have recovered.

There’s a lot that can’t be predicted about the future waves of the coronavirus given that outbreaks may be impacted by what we do now.
