Former All Black Waisake Naholo has given the London Irish supporters an early taste of what he might be able to achieve in the green and white jersey.

The former Taranaki and Highlanders winger has scored a sharp try on his Premiership debut for his new club.

Naholo who played 26 tests and scored 16 test tries for the All Blacks, latched onto a cross-field kick from former Wallabies halfback Nick Phipps right on the touchline but delicately managed to stay inside the field of play as he fended off a would-be Leicester Tigers’ defender to score in the corner.

Naholo was one of five try scorers for London Irish as they record a 36-11 victory over the Leicester Tigers at Madejski Stadium in Reading.

Naholo confirmed in May he was heading to the English club at the completion of the Rugby World Cup.

But he fell out of favour and spent the last of his time in New Zealand playing for Taranaki in the Mitre 10 Cup.
