The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is working around the clock to get water supply normalized to residents in the elevated parts of Nasinu and certain areas in Suva, in the Central Division.

WAF ground teams last night identified the cause of the
leakage which was caused by a defective and worn out ferrule-cock and rubber
ring, after which repairs were conducted over night into this morning which
included metal and welding works.

Repairs have been made to the bulk main, which feeds treated
water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku main distribution
reservoir.

WAF is now in the process of re-charging the trunk main
(building-up pressure), once this is completed, water supply is expected to be
normalized.

A total of 15 water carting trucks have been deployed to
service the areas disrupted.

WAF sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused to our
valued customers.
