One of the major challenges faced by the Water Authority of Fiji is the work force attitude towards the transition brought about by the new look WAF since 2010.
This was revealed by WAF General Manager for Planning and Design-Nemani Waqanivalu during their 2013-2014 Annual Report submission to the Standing Committee on Natural Resources in Parliament Today.
“One of the key challenges that WAF faced during this transition was the work force attitude towards the change as most of our operational staff, many were still following the old ways of doing things. An area we are continuing to work on”
Waqanivalu also highlighted some of the Major Projects undertaken by them to improve their services to its customers. He also confirmed that talks are underway to extend coverage to the Vunidawa area along the Sawani to Serea route that are prone to water problems.
WAF has about 3,555 people employed under them.
