The Ministry of Fisheries will continue to monitor all sea cucumber species as well as undersized fish and crabs that are being sold at municipal markets, fish outlets and roadside stalls.

Over the weekend, officers of the ministry in the Central, Northern and Western Divisions carried out monitoring as well as confiscation of species that were undersized or banned.

A total of 29 undersized crabs were confiscated in the West while 50 undersized crabs were confiscated in the Central Division.

A total of 449 sea cucumbers was also confiscated during the operation.
