The University of the South Pacific is once again participating in the International Robotics competition organized by the FIRST Global Higher Education Network for high school students.

USP will host a training for selected Year 13 students from Suva Grammar, Yat Sen Secondary, Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School tomorrow morning.

USP through the Faculty of  Science, Technology, and Environment has been partnering with the organization to organize teams from the Pacific. There will be teams from Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Fiji and Nauru.

The training will be done by  the USP staff on how to design, and program a robot for a sports-like competition using a kit of components in the next two months.  This year the “FIRST Global Challenge” will be held on 24-27 October in Dubai.
