It’s been an honor representing the country in 7s Rugby to the World.

These were the words of Aminiasi Tuimaba, one of two players from the national team who just signed up for a Top 14 Club in France earlier this year.

While the 25-year-old looks forward to joining Pau Club, his dream of defending Olympic 7s Gold won in 2016, next year, remains his greatest interest.

While it’s every Fijian Rugby player’s dream to represent the country at International level, for many, the Olympics is the pinnacle of a great career, and confidently wants to be part of that history and win that gold medal in Tokyo come next year’s Olympics.

Tuimaba has also made arrangements with his club to make himself available for the Olympic Games as he doesn’t want to let this opportunity slip.

Meanwhile, team captain Meli Derenalagi says the team were all looking forward to this year’s World event, but will now have more time to prepare.

Players will continue with their own personal training hoping the full squad return to full training once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
