A truck driver was airlifted to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital yesterday and is admitted at the ICU Ward.

It is alleged the suspect, accompanied by two others, was reversing a ten wheeler truck on the Vunisea Jetty in Kadavu on Monday afternoon when he lost control of the vehicle due to loose gravel causing the truck to plunge into the sea.

All three managed to swim to safety. While the two passengers were treated and sent home, the driver sustained serious injuries and has been admitted in the hospital since the day of the accident.

Investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the third victim of the accident that claimed the lives of two women in Valelevu last week, has been discharged from the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
