An application to transfer to the High Court will be made in the case involving a Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Director.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption – Senior Counsel Rashmi Aslam informed the court of this in today’s court sitting and said the decision for that application can be made once the plea has been taken.

Shameem Khan, who is the FRCS Director Intelligence, Compliance and Investigations and the Chief Ethical Standard Unit Officer, was charged last October with one count each of Abuse of Office and General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss.

Second phase disclosures were also served, with the Accused being reminded to adhere to his bail conditions especially the one regarding the approaching of or interference with Prosecution witnesses.

Aslam stressed the importance of adherence as most of the witnesses work with or under the Accused.

Resident Magistrate, Deepika Prakash concurred and reiterated the same to Khan and his counsel, Faizal Haniff, who assured strict adherence to conditions.
