For the first time in history, the Methodist Church in Fiji is debt free.
This was revealed by the President of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma – Reverend Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa, while opening their ‘Annual Conference yesterday.
Members of the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma applauded when the President- Reverend Vakadewavosa revealed that the church is debt free for the first time in history.
At the beginning of the 2018-2019 fiscal year, the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma have saved $1.9 million and made a profit of $3 million.
The Methodist church does not have any outstanding debt to pay.
The only existing debt are for some divisions, institutions, churches and church ministers to pay up.
Reverend Vakadewavosa called on members of the church to be accountable and transparent in handling of finances and to allow the church to grow with good financial management.
