“Be professional and stay calm.”

Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Hon. Rosy Akbar, while addressing teachers Fiji Muslim League Annual Teachers Award Night held in Makoi sounded this advice as a means of tackling challenges that are thrown at teachers.

“Challenges will come and go but do your best. Please remember that every child is precious to their parents so even though you are managing a class of 30 to 40 students try to understand their concerns,” Minister Akbar said.

She also reminded teachers that they are now educating children who are exposed to a lot more in life by way of social media when compared to the previous generation hence they must try to keep up with them in order to have a better understanding of the issues they are facing.
