A “Storm Warning” remains in force for Komo, Kabara, Namuka-i-Lau, Ogea, Fulaga, Vatoa and Ono-I-Lau.

A “Gale Warning” remains in force for Matuku, Moala, Totoya, Vanuavatu, Nayau, Lakeba, Oneata and Moce.

A “Strong Wind Warning” remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Beqa, Vatulele, Viti Levu and nearby smaller Islands, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller Islands, Lomaiviti Group and the rest of Lau Group.

A “Heavy Rain” warning remains in force for Kadavu, central and Southern Lau Group.

Tropical cyclone Sarai, category 2 was located near 20.3 south latitude, 179.1 west longitude or about 50km northwest of Ono-i-Lau or 150km south of Kabara at 7am today.

Close to its centre TC Sarai is expected to have average winds of up to 95km/hr with momentary gusts to 130km/hr. TC Sarai is moving east at about 10km/hr.

Anticipated Track:
The centre should be located about 80km east-northeast of Ono-i-Lau or 190km south-southeast of Kabara at 7pm today and about 140km east of Ono-i-Lau midnight tonight.

Threat for Fiji:
For Komo, Kabara, Namuka-I-Lau, Ogea, Fulaga, Vatoa and Ono-i-Lau:
Expect destructive storm force winds with average speeds of 95km/hr with momentary gusts to 130km/hr. Very high seas. Periods of heavy rain and squally thunderstorms. Sea flooding to be expected during high tides.

For Matuku, Moala, Totoya, Vanuavatu, Nayau, Lakeba, Oneata and Moce:
Expect damaging gale force winds with average speeds of 75km/hr with momentary gusts to 90 km/hr. High seas. Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Beqa, Vatulele, Viti Levu and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti group and the rest of Lau Group:
Expect strong west to southwesterly winds with average speeds of 45km/hr with momentary gusts to 80km/hr.

Rough to very rough seas.

Cloudy periods with some showers.

The following information is provided especially for the mariners

For the southern Koro Sea and southern Lau waters:
Expect clockwise winds up to 50 knots gusting to 70 knots. Very high Seas with damaging heavy southwest swells.

For northern Lau waters, northern Koro Sea, Kadavu and Vatu-i-Ra Passage:
Expect northwest to northeast winds up to 45 knots gusting to 65 knots. High seas.

For Northern Vanua Levu, southwest Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca waters:
Expect west to northwest winds 20 to 30 knots gusting to 45 knots. Rough to very rough seas.
