Primary School athletes from Taveuni are already looking forward to this year’s National Primary School athletics event – the “FMF Chow Games”.
The team trained at the ANZ Stadium yesterday, doing their last few laps of preparation, before the two-day national event kicks off tomorrow.
Team Manager, Viliame Kabakoro says his athletes are confident of a good outing, with great hope that this year’s participation will be surreal.
“We arrived in Suva on Monday this week, and decided to have a feel of the tracks and the sandpit today (yesterday),” Kabakoro said.
“The team consists of 72 athletes from 12 different schools from around the island, and interestingly, most of these athletes are here in Suva for the first time.”
Kabakoro says they had been preparing for the past few weeks, and despite a few challenges they had gone through, he is hopeful that some of his athletes will win medals this year.
The FMF Chow Games begins tomorrow November 15, and you can watch the live coverage on Fiji One.
