A two-week training focusing on sustainable livelihood – is currently being held at the Tacirua Primary School, in partnership with the Southern Division Community Policing, the Fiji National University, and the Naitasiri Provincial Council.

The training focuses at getting members of the Tacirua community together, to undertake skills training in areas such as basic business management, commercial flora-culture, domestic electric installation, screen printing, child and elderly care, free-hand garment construction, and basic cookery and patisseries – to name a few.

The training is being overseen by the Fiji National University’s Project Coordinator – Setareki Valenitabua, who says this is a Government initiative, that is aimed at bridging the gap of vocational training.

Meanwhile – the Head of the Dokanaisvua clan, Setareki Raibevu said, the people of Tacirua and the surrounding areas, appreciate the opportunity to learn new trades.
