Sunset Express Limited, a name synonymous in the Bus Industry in the country has been in operation for almost 25 years now.

The Family owned Business that has been passed down from one Generation to another -with the main focus of serving the people of Fiji with the best mode of transportation and comfort.

The company is now raising their concerns on the “E-Ticketing System” that was introduced in October, 2017.

Sunset Express Limited-Head of Marketing and Sales-Arkari Silimaibau says since the introduction of the E-Ticketing system, there has been inconsistency on how they operate as a company on a daily basis. She highlighted one of the recent scenarios on how the number of profit made by the company didn’t add up to what the system had provided them.

The company has 23 buses in operations and  does 9 trips daily along the Queens Highway route has incurred a major loss of about half a million since the E-ticketing system was introduced.  The company had to downsize its staff from 100 to 80 as a result.

Silimaibau hopes to have a dialogue with the Government and the relevant authorities on the matter and says the E-Tickeing system needs to be redesigned so it can work to its full potential.

Vodafone Fiji in response to the issue raised by the company says they will respond after they have been able to ascertain the facts  and complete their own investigation on the issue raised, that may take a day or two.
