The Empowering Solo-Mums Project since its inception in 2013, has seen over 50 Women Graduate from the Program.

The Project under the umbrella of the International Needs Fiji Organization, a Charity Based Group focused on assisting the less fortunate and marginalized in order to restore their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual identity.

With their recent Graduation of 19 Women from the Program, the success stories from the Women has Inspired so many other women out there that anything is Possible.

With a Staff of seven, the Program offers single Mothers Life and Skills Training for 17-20 Weeks, that can help them find Employment and start their own Business

Training Coordinator-Talisa Whippy says they target single mums who don’t have a source of income, marginalized by their families, and depend on their Extended Families for their Livelihood.
The staff also has a Day Care at their office for the Children while their Mothers go through the Training.

The Program hopes to instill Empowerment Values and Self Confidence to the Women to be able to look after themselves. The Phase Out Program will see the women given starter packs in areas of baking, cooking, sewing amongst others.

Solo Moms Project Empowers single Mothers living in informal settlements within the greater Suva to Navua Corridor.

The Project is funded by International Needs New Zealand and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
