When it comes to sustainable development, all efforts are ultimately a local affair despite the focus on large multinationals, non-profits and intergovernmental entities.

This was the statement by International lawyer and private sector representative, Ana Tuiketei.
She was speaking to more than 30 participants at the “Tripartite Dialogue on Building Partnerships for People, Planet and Prosperity yesterday in Suva,

Tuiketei said while most conversations about the private sector working on the Sustainable Development Goals have focused on large, multinational corporations, it is important to note small to medium enterprises contribute more to gross domestic products and they operate in their local communities.

The session continues today with the Fiji National University Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Nii-K Plange speaking on Social Inclusion, Economic Growth and Environmental Protection.
