Minister for Defence and National Security, Inia Seruiratu commissioned the Navy’s new Hydrographic Vessel “Kacau” at the Naval Base in Walu Bay.
The new vessel will boost Fiji Navy’s ability to conduct hydro-graphic surveys, which means it will provide the best, most reliable data for nautical charts, making our oceans more predictable and easy-to-navigate for the thousands of mariners who traverse Fiji’s waters each year.
A traditional welcoming ceremony was performed by the Naval officers to officially welcome the new vessel.
The vessel is the latest contribution by the Chinese government to assist the Fiji Navy in keeping our maritime borders safe and respond to natural disasters and combat climate change.
