Trainees graduate as junior leaders of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces at the Force Training Group camp in Nasinu today.

The chief guest, Lieutenant Colonel Semi Mocelutu told graduates of the 1/19 Infantry Section Commanders Course that as junior leaders they will be the point of link between the Section and Platoon. “As junior commanders you will be the main link between the section and the platoon and you will brief the men and women under you command the tasking that is required from the platoon or higher headquarters.

He added that for a section commander to successfully undertake his or her responsibilities they ought to have as element of flexibility in their leadership style.

A total of fifty five trainees graduated after successfully completing the eleven weeks vigorous training which include theory and tactical exercises which tested their skills, knowledge and attitude on Leadership.

The graduation parade commander, 32702 Lance Corporal Elia Bulavakarua was awarded the Best All Rounder Award who was most consistent on academic lessons and physical aspects of the course. Other award recipients are Corporal (Cpl) Jone Kotobalavu for the best Leadership Award, Cpl Apisalome Balawakula for the best Tactics Award and Cpl Elia Lote for the Best Peers Award.
