It was a sad day for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) as they farewelled the late 27913 Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Laisani Kinikini-Vulakouvaki at the Nasinu Cemetery who passed away at the CWM Hospital on Thursday 04 June, 2020.

While reading the eulogy on behalf of the military, Major Ieli from the Land Force Command Battalion stated that Lt-Col Kinikini-Vulakouvaki was considered as a mother first to the RFMF and an Officer later. He stated that she was also a humble person and was never too busy to cheer one up.

Lt-Col Kinikini-Vulakouvaki who was the Chief-of-Staff Land Force before she passed away, began her military career in 1988 and was one of the first batches of women soldiers in the RFMF. Lt-Col Kinikini-Vulakouvaki also played an instrumental role in the development of women personnel in the RFMF.

Lt-Col Kinikini-Vulakouvaki will surely be missed.
