A public consultation by the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to discuss plans on a Road Widening Project along the Queen Elizabeth Drive was held yesterday, at Suva Grammar School.
Key stakeholders and residents living along this area attended the meeting and were given an overview on this proposed road upgrade works.
FRA Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Moore says the project is to improve the road on Queen Elizabeth Drive from Ratu Sukuna Road, then through to Laucala Bay Road, where they will be putting in new road, footpath and streetlights together with a new bridge in Nasese.
The project proposes to upgrading approximately 2.9 kilometers of the Queen Elizabeth Drive, with works to be carried out in three stages and areas.
Moore also reveals of FRA’s upcoming Black Spot Program, where “accident spots” around the country will be looked into and studied in order to come up with a solution on ways to help design or redesign road projects, as their way of making changes in the Future.
